Electrical

It's estimated that there are some 1200+ fires a year that are started by faulty electrics, badly installed or poorly maintained wiring and accessories. These faults can, and do, often result in tragedy causing death and injury and so, therefore, it's in your best interests to have your property electrically tested. Cables, switches, sockets, fuse boards and other equipment will deteriorate over time simply because of the level of use, and abuse, they are expected to withstand.

To this end they need to be inspected and tested regularly to British Standards BS7671 - IEE Wiring Regulations and all necessary replacements or repairs should be made in good time.

As a basic guide, in general business premises, inspections should take place every 5yrs and in domestic situations every 10 years (or with change of occupancy). However, some properties and locations may require testing more frequently.
